FAQ
How do custom orders work?
Every custom piece starts with a conversation. For some work, you’ll submit a quote request outlining your ideas, references, and use case.
Once we have the details, we’ll review everything and follow up. Stone preferences, design ideas, sizing and any other options will be discussed at this time. Once the design direction is approved, an invoice will be sent. Quote does not include any taxes, and is valid for one (1) week. When the piece is complete, the remaining balance is due before it ships or is picked up.
Stones sourced for your custom will only be held for 30 days after ordering. Failure to communicate about your order will result in forfeiture of your custom order spot, and stones chosen for your specific order may be used for other items.
As the artist, we reserve the right to decline any custom request that does not align with our style, values or capabilities.
Sizing
Customers are responsible for providing accurate ring, bracelet and necklace sizing. Resize requests after completion may not be possible depending on the nature of the design, and may incur additional charges.
What’s the turnaround time?
Most custom work takes 4–6 weeks, depending on the piece and our current workload.
Quality takes time. We don’t do rush jobs.
Can I use my own stone or materials?
Often, yes. If you have an heirloom stone, turquoise, or other material you’d like incorporated, include that information in your quote request or reach out directly. We’ll let you know if it’s a good fit for the design.
How do payments work?
Custom work is typically split into two payments:
-
50% upfront to reserve your spot and begin work.
-
50% upon completion, before shipping or pickup.
- Orders totaling under $100 will require payment in full upon ordering.
*Custom orders with specific customizations, ex: brand, initials or date, etc. will be paid in full upon ordering.
* Unless otherwise discussed, payments not completed within 30 days of final invoice will result in the cancellation of your order, forfeiture of deposit and your item will be listed for sale.
For larger or more complex builds, we’ll outline payment details clearly before work begins. Deposits are non refundable, and cover materials, sourcing stones and design time. Completed pieces are final sale.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We ship worldwide. Any customs duties, taxes, or import fees are the responsibility of the buyer.
Can I cancel or return a custom order?
Because each piece is built specifically for you, custom orders are non-refundable once production begins. If you need to make a change, reach out as soon as possible and we’ll help if we can. Refunds and exchanges are not offered on custom work unless there is a valid craftmanship issue.
How should I care for my piece?
Silver is meant to be worn, that’s part of the character. To keep things looking good:
-
Remove rings when washing hands, lifting, welding, digging, or doing hard manual work.
-
Gently clean with warm soapy water and a soft brush (no harsh chemicals).
-
Store dry and wipe down occasionally with a polishing cloth.
-
Turquoise and other natural stones should not be submerged in water. Chemicals like soap, perfumes and lotions can be known to discolor stones.
If it ever needs a deeper clean or touch up, we’re happy to help.
What materials do you use?
We work primarily in sterling silver, along with turquoise and other stones. Every piece is built from solid materials.
Natural stones, turquoise and handmade elements will vary slightly in color, pattern and shape. These variations make each piece unique and are not considered flaws. I will always do my best to accurately represent materials through photos and communication. I only choose stones from trusted sources, and may be limited on what I can get. I am happy to discuss all stone options with you during the design process, but please know that the "perfect" stone may not be available.
Can I see sketches or progress along the way?
Absolutely. If you’d like updates, sketches, or progress photos, just let us know!
What if I want something a little unusual?
That’s usually where the best work starts. If you’ve got an idea that doesn’t fit neatly into a form or product page reach out at rylie@ryliediversilver.com
